The Promise is a sweeping historical drama set during the final years of the Ottoman Empire, amidst the horrors of the Armenian Genocide. The film follows Michael (Oscar Isaac), an ambitious Armenian medical student, who falls in love with Ana (Charlotte Le Bon), a sophisticated Armenian woman already involved with American journalist Chris (Christian Bale).
